Autumn Newsletter 2009

With the success of our dressage team at Windsor and the upcoming European Eventing Championships, the year once again rushes past.

We have had a busy and high quality training year, starting with our best-ever-attended Annual course in January which was an outstanding success, and continuing with several excellent days around the country. All the reports for these are to be seen on our website. Well worth a browse.

And we crown our year with a wonderful training day with Stephen Clarke at Congleton, Cheshire on September 22nd. How lucky we are as an Association to have the opportunity to train with and learn from him. Sue Pimbley is running the day, tel 01253 701014 or 07717 017372.

Enclosed with the mailed newsletter are the forms for our Annual Course and AGM/Dinner at Addington on January 13th and 14th. We are delighted to have secured two superb trainers and communicators for the two days in Tim Stockdale and Adam Kemp. Adam is delighted to take both individuals and pairs of riders of similar standards – a change of format which should open up the numbers we can take for the flat work. Again, first come first served, so please book early.

On February 23rd, Hartpury College are again holding a veterinary and technical update day for the Association. The focus this year is on the rider, as follows:

Introduction to Human anatomy related to the rider; Appreciation of rider biomechanics; postural change; achievement on and off the horse; common postural problems and how to tackle them; rider fitness – probably an exercise in the lab using 2 – 3 F and I’s, may also be able to relate to competition stress and the impact upon rider fitness.

So, please update your diaries for 2010 now!

I hope to see many of you at Stephen’s day and definately at our AGM and Annual course.

Yours sincerely

William
