Irish Day 1 – Visit to Cian O’Connor and Gavin Cromwell

Tuesday 10 June 2025 10:00-16:00

This year for the first time we will have a two day Irish event. We start off visiting the legendary Karlswood, Batterstown Co.Meath, A86WV56 high performance centre where there core values are that “Success is a reward for effort!”. Here we will see Cian O’Connor’s Meath home base with state of the art facilities and all the supportive structures for the development of young riders.

We will also visit Gavin Cromwell, Balrath, Co.Meath, C15DKD5 a prominent racing trainer transitioning from farriery to training in 2005 having his first winner “Dodder Walk” only two years later. He recorded a notable Grade 1 double at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival winning the Stayers’ Hurdle with “Flooring Porter” and the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle with “Vanillier”. He made history in December 2024 with the first ever Irish trained winner in Bahrain with “Snellen”.

This promises to be an informative and interesting day looking at both the sport horse and thoroughbred industry.
